“Twenty-five Twenty-one” behind stories revealed by Lee Joo-myung and Choi Hyun-wook, “Nam Joo-hyuk is really interesting, Kim Tae-ri sings well…”
Actors Choi Hyun-wook and Lee Joo-myung disclosed several behind-the-scenes stories about drama “Twenty-five Twenty-one” on “2 O’Clock Date” radio program.
Actor Choi Hyun-wook and actress Lee Joo-myung, who star in the ongoing drama “Twenty-five Twenty-one”, guested in the ‘Dude Friends’ section of MBC’s FM4U’s “2 O’Clock Date of Muzie and Ahn Young-mi”, which aired on the afternoon of March 22nd.
“Twenty-five Twenty-one” is a youth romantic drama depicting the wandering and growth of young people who lost their dreams because of the times in 1998. Lee Joo-myung and Choi Hyun-wook are loved for their performances as Ji Seung-wan and Moon Ji-woong in this drama.
In “Twenty-five Twenty-one”, Lee Joo-myung and Choi Hyun-wook showed off their fantastic teamwork and bickering moments as childhood friends. Especially in episode 12, when Ji Seung-wan decided to drop out of school, she and Moon Ji-woong showed different sides of their personalities, raising the viewers’ curiosity about the future developments of the two.
Choi Hyun-wook said, “Moon Ji-woong confessed to Ko Yu-rim (Bona) and the two started dating in episode 11. Please continue to watch the drama to see what will happen in the future”. Lee Joo-myung and Choi Hyun-wook are receiving so much love for their acting in “Twenty-five Twenty-one”. Lee Joo-myung said, “After episode 12 was aired, my mom texted me, ‘Is it gonna be this emotional?’. My friends told me that they felt cringe every time they watched the drama”. Choi Hyun-wook also said, “My friends also said that they didn’t want to see me in the drama and only skipped my parts”.
Lee Joo-myung and Choi Hyun-wook are also drawing attention as they are called “Little Jeon Ji-hyun” and “Little Park Seo-joon”, respectively. Lee Joo-myung shared, “I saw that in comments somewhere. But I’m telling you to not touch Jeon Ji-hyun”. Choi Hyun-wook laughed and said, “Many people told me that I look like Park Seo-joon ”.
Lee Joo-myung and Choi Hyun-wook remembered the scene at that time while listening to the audio of their performance in “Twenty-five Twenty-one”. Choi Hyun-wook confessed, “At first, I wondered if I could pull off this line. I tried to keep calm. I thought viewers would still like it even if the line itself was so calm.” Lee Joo-myung continued, “I wanted to encompass everyone like Sung Si-kyung while being DJ Wan-seung, but Seung-wan’s personality didn’t seem like that.”
“Twenty-five Twenty-one” is receiving a lot of love for the cast’s tiki-taka and chemistry. Lee Joo-myung shared, “If I and Choi Hyun-wook are together, there will be no NG. We have good chemistry like real friends.” Choi Hyun-wook went on to say, “Nam Joo-hyuk is a bit interesting. His ad-lib is funny.” Regarding the process of working on the drama’s OST, he added, “Five people recorded it together. Kim Tae-ri sings well. She sang the intro, and as soon as she started, I thought it was over.”
Choi Hyun-wook was a member of the baseball team during his school days. When his juniors’ eyewitness accounts and impressive stories were revealed, Choi Hyun-wook said, “I don’t remember going to other schools and telling them about my pitching style. I played baseball from the fourth grade of elementary school to the first grade of high school. I had to quit because of elbow surgery.”
