Today (Dec 18th) marks the fourth anniversary of SHINee Jonghyun’s death

It has been 4 years since SHINee Jonghyun passed away.

On December 18, 2017, the late Jonghyun (real name Kim Jonghyun) died at the age of 27. Jonghyun, who had suffered from depression, was found dead in a residence in Seoul. Jonghyun’s sudden death shocked the public. The entertainment industry and fans at that time fell into great sorrow.

After debuting as a member of SHINee in 2008, Jonghyun and his group released a number of hit songs such as “Replay”, “Love Like Oxygen”, “Lucifer”, “Juliette”, “Dream Girl”, “Everybody”… The male singer showcased his “singer-songwriter” side with his outstanding singing skills as well as genius musicality. In addition to writing and composing many SHINee songs, he also filled his solo album with self-composed songs or gave songs to other singers.

After Jonghyun’s death, the bereaved family established a non-profit organization called “Shinin’ Foundation“. “Shinin‘”, which is also the title of Jonghyun’s solo song, is a corporation that encourages the growth of artists who are dedicated to cultural – artistic activities and supports them to improve their abilities.
