Sungjin, a member of the “K-pop representative band” DAY6 from JYP Entertainment, has reportedly been discharged from the military.
According to the announcement from JYP Entertainment on September 6th, Sungjin was discharged from the military on the same day. Sungjin, who enlisted in March last year, was discharged after completing all of his service days.
At the time of his enlistment, Sungjin shocked fans as he made the surprise announcement while he was on his way to the training center. He turned on a Vlive broadcast with the title “Salute!!!” in the car while moving to the training center and informed fans of his enlistment.
As a result, Sungjin became the first member of DAY6 to finish his military service. All the other members, except for Sungjin, are currently serving in the military.
Sungjin will attend the event celebrating DAY6’s 7th debut anniversary event on September 7th as his first schedule after his discharge and greet fans. On this day, DAY6 will organize an offline meet & greet event for fans and present them with a meaningful day.
Making their official debut in the music industry with the first mini album “The Day” on September 7th, 2015, DAY6 received huge love and attracted a big fandom in Korea and overseas by releasing several hit songs, such as “You Were Beautiful”, “Time of Our Life”, and “Zombie”.
