According to the Seoul Jongam Police Station on Feb 18th, MC Ding-dong was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act (drinking and driving) and obstructing the execution of official duties. He was caught by the police near Hawolgok-dong, Seongbuk-gu, while drunk driving at 9:30 p.m. on Feb 17th, but fled without responding to the police officer’s request for a stop.
The police, who were chasing MC Ding-dong, reportedly arrested him about four hours later at 2 a.m. As a result of the breathalyzer test, the blood alcohol concentration in MC Ding-dong was reportedly at a level which can lead to a license cancellation (0.08% or more). The police sent MC Ding-dong home after a sobriety test, and plan to call him back soon to investigate the details of the crime.
MC Ding-dong switched his Instagram to private after being caught drunk driving. E-Daily tried to contact MC Ding-dong several times to hear an explanation of the situation at the time, but he did not answer the phone.
MC Ding-dong is a former comedian of SBS’ 9th open recruitment. He has been active as a pre-MC for big programs such as KBS2’s “Yoo Hee-yeol’s Sketchbook” and “Immortal Songs,” earning the nickname “Yoo Jae-seok in the pre-MC world.“
