In the meantime, another issue recently arose. Netizens re-examined the incident when The Weeknd suddenly stopped performing in the middle of his concert, citing the reason that his voice was hoarse.

On May 24th (local time), the American men’s magazine Esquire reported an interview with The Weeknd.

During the interview, The Weeknd explained the reason he halted the concert. During the performance of his third song “Can’t Feel My Face” at a sold-out concert at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Los Angeles, The Weeknd stopped the show and explained to the audience that he lost his voice.

The Weeknd said to Esquire, “I guess I forgot how to sing since I’ve been playing the non-singing character Tedros ”.

He confessed, “I don’t know if I was too immersed in acting, but I was very scared. As The Weeknd, I’ve never missed a concert. But I thought I was going to die on the stage”, adding “Lots of complicated things filled my mind the moment I started acting”.

Therefore, The Weeknd fans showed cold reactions after “The Idol” premiered. Many poured criticism, saying “You lost your voice because of such a kind of acting?”, “You should be ashamed of yourself”, “I want you to do well in your main job only”, etc.
