The reason a female college student, who has white eyebrows and spots on her body due to Vitiligo disease, appears on a TV broadcast  

A Japanese female guest on “Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller” revealed that she gave up her dream because of a rare disease.

23-year-old Japanese girl Ejiri Yumi appeared on KBS Joy’s entertainment program “Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller” broadcast, which aired on November 21st.

Ejiri Yumi has suffered from Vitiligo disease since her first year of high school. Vitiligo is a disorder that causes one’s skin to lose its color.

Yumi confessed, “I can neither accept my changing appearance nor tell my family and friends about my concern. I applied to appear on this program because I want to live confidently from now on.”

She also revealed the white spots on the right half of her face and her neck.

Yumi said, “It’s not because of genetics, but there’s no way to cure it. I’m relieved that the disease doesn’t grow anymore”. MCs Lee Soo Geun and Seo Jang Hoon were speechless because they felt so bad for her.

Lee Soo Geun cautiously praised Yumi, “Before you talked about the disease, I thought you did some makeup on purpose”, adding “Your eyes are very pretty”.

However, Yumi said, “Although some people like you give me some good compliments, I’ve heard others call me with words like zebra, grandmother, or half-and-half makeup. People around often stare at me.”

Seo Jang Hoon showed a serious face and tried to comfort her by saying “Don’t hang out with kids like them. People also stare at me that way”. He advised her to ignore people’s gaze.

Yumi smiled and confessed that she gave up her dream of becoming a flight attendant due to the changes in her appearance due to the Vitiligo disease.
