The lead actress of ongoing K-drama with highest ratings: studied a different major yet madly successful

The final month of 2022 is highly competitive for ongoing K-dramas, with various series competing for the highest ratings. As of December 14th, the KBS drama “Three Bold Siblings” is currently in the lead, and despite being halfway-through, its ratings are witnessing an increasing trend. In addition, the female lead of “Three Bold Siblings” is drawing attention for being a familiar face with fans of KBS’ weekend dramas.
Lee Ha Na was actually born in a family with a tradition in entertainment. Her father is a famous musician, and so the actress originally pursued music. She even enrolled in the music department at Dankook University, only to change her career path drastically and began acting.
Lee Ha Na made her acting debut in the drama “Alone in Love”, playing the younger sister of female lead Son Ye Jin. After the success of this series, Lee Ha Na started to gain attention as an actress, and would later star in many famous series afterwards. Her notable projects include “High School Kind of Savvy”, “Women in the Sun”, and “Unkind Ladies”.
Strangely enough, most commercial successes of Lee Ha Na are KBS dramas, with outstanding viewership ratings. The actress’ portrayal in “Women in the Sun” even helped Lee Ha Na become Best Leading Actress at the 2008 KBS Drama Awards.
While not massively popular to the international audience, Lee Ha Na is considered a “rating guarantor” for the projects she stars in. Recently, the actress has been showing her charm in “Three Bold Siblings” by playing the candid yet warm-hearted female lead Tae Joo.
Being aired on KBS2 at a prime time slot, “Three Bold Siblings” is recording viewership ratings as high as 22,8%, which is showing signs of increasing. Currently, it is neck-to-neck with JTBC’s “Reborn Rich”, and anticipations are high to see which series will come out as the victor.
