“The Golden Spoon” is accused of discriminating against some of its actors, openly mocked Yook Sung Jae
The making film of the drama “The Golden Spoon” has become a hot topic.
On Nov 10th, the 14th making video of “The Golden Spoon” was uploaded on the official YouTube channel “MBC Drama”.
In the description, it wrote, “Coolness explodes! We invite you to the shooting site of ‘The Golden Spoon,’ which has suddenly turned into a magazine photoshoot, and to the exciting site where Lee Jong Won’s hidden secrets are revealed. On the other hand, Yook Sung Jae did an acrostic poem to show the view of the Han River through his eyes, which is another failure.”
Netizens who saw the explanation commented, “Why do they use the word ‘failure’ to the main actor?” “It’s my first time seeing the main actor being mocked openly like this,” “Why can’t we see all the actresses?” “Drama’s behind-the-scenes should basically show important scenes in the story. Who is this making for?” and “As a fan of Son Woo Hyun, I’m uncomfortable too.”
Later, in the video, the part “Yook Sung Jae’s acrostic poem is a failure” was revised to “How is Yook Sung Jae’s acrostic poem skill?”
Earlier, viewers complained that making videos of “The Golden Spoon” favors only certain actors, not the main actors.
On Nov 9th, a post about actors’ screentime in the making videos of MBC’s drama “The Golden Spoon” was uploaded on the online community theqoo.
According to the post, Yook Sung-jae’s fans claimed that supporting actor Son Woo-hyun appeared in the making videos of “The Golden Spoon” more than main actors Yook Sung-jae, Lee Jong-won, Jung Chae-yeon and Yeonwoo.
Netizens explained, “Usually, making videos mainly focus on main actors. Son Woo-hyun appears even when filming the emotional scenes of the main actors. The same goes for official photos and thumbnails.”
They complained, “I suspect that the production team has ulterior motives under the pretext of making videos.”
