“The Glory” was posted 30 minutes late on an illegal distribution site, angering users

OO TV, which is a notorious illegal streaming site, has released Part 2 of “The Glory”. In response, Netflix users who watch “The Glory” legally are angry and demand a strong counteract against OO TV.

Previously, various OTT companies have applied strong actions against OO TV. However, the illegal streaming site did not give in and even published the hit Netflix drama “The Glory”. In particular, Part 2 of the series was uploaded in full on OOTV at 5:30 PM (KST), 30 minutes after the official release on Netflix.

Since then, comments from OO TV users, who complained about the 30 minute delay, were spread through various online communities, causing embarrassment.

Below are some comments from these users:

  • Why didn’t you upload it at 5 o’clock?
  • I watched it from episode 16 because there’s no display for season 2. How are you going to take responsibility for this?
  • I’ll take the police test tomorrow and catch the manager
  • Shouldn’t it be faster than Netflix? It’s domestic content, but it’s slower than American companies.
  • If this happens, I’d rather watch Netflix.

In response, the manager of the site apologized, saying, “This is the best we can do, posting at 5 o’clock is technically impossible. We are sorry.”

OO TV’s illegal distribution of OTT content is a serious matter. Since the site has servers overseas, it is difficult to imply sanction, and even if access is blocked, users can visit by changing their domains. As a result, only users of paid OTT services, who watch content legally, are being affected.

OO TV, which illegally distributes both domestic and foreign content, has about 10 million monthly active users. They make huge profits through advertisement linked to gambling sites around the world.

Previously, various OTT companies set forth a policy, which actively responded to illegal distribution, and formed a “Video Copyright Protection Council” as well as announced that they would file criminal charges against OO TV.
