“The Glory” Shin Ye Eun to join Kim Tae Ri in new drama “Demon”

Actress Shin Ye Eun, who created a buzz with her role in the hit drama “The Glory”, has announced her next work.

An entertainment insider told JTBC Enter News on February 21st, “Shin Ye Eun recently decided to appear in the drama ‘Demon’ and is learning how to sing for the work.”

“Demon” (literal title) follows Jeong Nyeon, a girl with a natural talent for singing right after the Korean War in the 1950s, who joins a Yeoseong Gukgeuk troupe and grows up. It is directed by Jung Ji In of “The Red Sleeve” and written by Choi Hyo Bi of “Into Your Time”. “Demon” is adapted from the popular webtoon “Jeong Nyeon”.

In the drama, Shin Ye Eun plays Heo Young Seo, a character who can be misunderstood for her tough personality, but she just wants fair competition on stage.  Attention is focusing on what kind of synergy Shin Ye Eun will exert with Kim Tae Ri in the drama.

Shin Ye Eun received favorable reviews for playing Park Yeon Jin in her childhood in “The Glory”, which was released on December 30 last year. It was her first villain portrayal since her debut. She convincingly showed creepy expressions, tone of voice, and eyes like a real perpetrator of school violence.

In her next work, SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Romantic Guest House”, which will be first broadcast on March 20, she plays Yun Dan Oh, the MZ empress of the Joseon Dynasty. With a bright smile like sunlight, elegant hair, and fine-colored hanbok, she will show off her beautiful looks, signaling a change in image.
