“The Glory” Park Yeon Jin’s ‘smiling while crying’ ending scene impresses drama fans
Netizens poured compliments on the directing of Park Yeon Jin’s disastrous ending and Lim Ji Yeon’s acting.
Introducing Part 1 on December 30th last year, Netflix’s “The Glory”, which depicts the revenge plan designed by school violence victim Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo) against the group of perpetrators, has finally completed on March 10th with the release of Part 2.
In particular, Park Yeon Jin (Lim Ji Yeon), the leader of the bully gang in the drama, faced a disastrous ending after Moon Dong Eun’s revenge ended.
She admitted to having committed school violence in the past then submitted her resignation letter to the broadcasting station she worked for and apologized.
Moreover, she was also imprisoned on charges of murdering two people, Yoon So Hee (Lee So Yi), whom she pushed off the rooftop in high school, and her friend Son Myeong Oh (Kim Gun Woo).
The scenes showing Park Yeon Jin’s prison life were revealed at the end of the drama, causing great shock to many viewers.
A prisoner called Park Yeon Jin, who was sitting alone in the corner of the room with an empty look, “Hey, pretty face”, asking “What’s the weather like tomorrow?”.
Hearing that, Park Yeon Jin looked around then stood up and began to report the weather like what she did when she was a weathercaster, saying “The weather has been cool for a few days due to frequent rain showers”.
Looking at other prisoners in the room, she added, “But from tomorrow, the temperature will warm up so I recommend you wear light clothes and stay hydrated”.
Park Yeon Jin continued to entertain other prisoners with her nonstop weather casting. She was clearly smiling but tears kept coming out of her eyes and falling down her face.
“Try to stay out of the sun between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. I’m Park Yeon Jin”, she finished her weather report, saying in tears.
In response, one prisoner laughed and asked, “Why is the weather so sad?”.
