“The Glory” Lee Moo Saeng “It was hard to play a psychopath…Honored to make a special appearance in the drama”
“The Glory” Lee Moo Saeng shared his thoughts on his special appearance.
“The Glory” is a Netflix series about a woman whose soul was broken by school violence during her childhood, as she carefully prepared her whole life for a revenge plan and the story of those who fall into the vortex. Part 1 was released in December last year and Part 2 was released on March 10th.
Lee Moo Saeng appeared as the murderer Kang Yeong Cheon in the drama. Despite his short special appearance, he received public attention for his amazing acting in Part 2, following his creepy “laughing psychopath” performance in Part 1.
Kang Yeong Cheon murdered the hospital director who saved him. He is a psychopath who does not feel any guilt even though he committed a terrible murder and became a prisoner serving a life sentence. He made Joo Yeo Jeong (Lee Do Hyun), the hospital director’s son, live in hell all the time.
Lee Moo Saeng perfectly expressed the psychopath Kang Yeong Cheon’s breathing, facial expressions and eyeballs.
Earlier, Lee Moo Saeng said, “I tried to approach and portray a general psychopath by referring to books related to psychopaths. I thought about how to effectively express this character in such a short time.”
As for the scene where he said the famous line “Because I’m bored”, Lee Moo Saeng shared, “I found a lot of answers in that line of Kang Yeong Cheon. I had a hard time emotionally after filming that scene. However, I believed that living as Kang Yeong Cheon, not myself, would help the drama at least when I filmed this scene. It was a work that made me sympathize with the saying ‘There is always an answer in the script’ once again.”
Lee Moo Saeng added, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the writer, the director and staff for creating an atmosphere for me to act comfortably (although I couldn’t be comfortable due to my role). It was such an honor to be able to make a special appearance in ‘The Glory’. Thank you for watching and I hope you will be ‘glories’ filled with only happy things.”
Meanwhile, Lee Moo Saeng, who received favorable reviews with his special appearance in “The Glory”, will return through the movie “Citizen Deok Hee” and the drama “Dominant Species”.
