“The Glory” Kim Hieora was stunned by Song Hye Kyo’s beauty during confrontation scene at the church

Actress Kim Hieora recently appeared in Netflix’s “The Glory” as Lee Sa Ra, one of the 5 villains who bullied the main character Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo). She gained favorable reviews for her impressive portrayal of Lee Sa Ra, who is an alcohol and drug addict, and so has a reckless tone and unfocused eyes.

When asked to tell a behind-the-scenes story about the filming of the most intense scene to her, Kim Hieora shared, “The scene where I met Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo) at the church was my first shoot. I thought a lot about what I should do. I have liked actress Song Hye Kyo since before, so I approached her after the rehearsal and confessed how I’m a fan of hers. In response, Song Hye Kyo thanked me and said she looked forward to my acting performance. Her words encouraged me a lot”.

I was so amazed by Song Hye Kyo’s beauty that I exclaimed ‘You’re so pretty’ before saying my lines. The director then told me to attack her more”, she added while laughing

Regarding the scene where her character has a hallucination of the snake, Kim Hieora said, “During a break, the director asked us if there were any parts in the script that were inconvenient and difficult, and encouraged the actors to express their ideas. I was very nervous at first, but I got excited as soon as the shoot started. My co-stars who played Yeon Jin and Sa Ra also encouraged me, so I really wanted to do well”, adding, “In fact, the scene was shot with a real snake, not CG effects. I acted with a snake that has been trained professionally and filmed many dramas before. It was very interesting.”

Kim Hieora also explained the relationship among the 5 villains, saying “Hye Jeong and Myeong Oh have things to gain from us so they tend to receive orders from us, from especially Yeon Jin and Jae Joon. I just don’t care about them. Hye Jeong secretly ignores me. I can spend time with Yeon Jin and her friends but if I cross the line, things will get worse. Yeon Jin and Jae Joon think we are below them.”

When asked about her actual religion, the actress said, “I’m Christian. My parents are also Christian”, adding “I actually think Sa Ra believes in her own God rather more than what the drama describes her.

In response to the question, “Is there any part of the drama that made you admire write Kim Eun Sook’s writing skills?”, Kim Hieora replied, “All the rude actions and words I made were actually from the script. She designed Sa Ra carefully to the point that I even wondered if she knew I would perform like that from the beginning.”

“I didn’t have many chances to talk with writer Kim Eun Sook after watching the drama. She did compliment me a lot after the filming ended. When I was worried about my role, she comforted me and told me to do whatever I wanted”, the actress continued.
