“The Glory” Jung Sung Il, “Ha Do Young has a good feeling for Dong Eun and is curious about her”

Actor Jung Sung Il talked about Song Hye Kyo and Lim Ji Yeon’s characters in Netflix’s original series “The Glory”.

On March 17th, Netflix Korea uploaded on its official Youtube channel a video titled “What if Ha Do Young went to the same high school as you? Netflix Debate”. The released video shows “The Glory” actors Park Sung Hoon, Jung Sung Il, Kim Hieora, Cha Joo Young, and Kim Gun Woo sharing various stories.

Cha Joo Young mentioned the feelings of Choi Hye Jung, her character, towards Jeon Jae Joon (Park Sung Hoon), saying “I thought it was love”. Kim Hieora commented, “Hye Jung’s feelings for Jae Joon were not love, but rather the desire to possess something”. In response, Cha Joo Young said, “It might start as pure love, but it seems to have changed and become distorted.”

Park Sung Hoon also explained his character’s relationship with Park Yeon Jin (Lim Ji Yeon), saying, “Jae Joon loves Yeon Jin, but Yeon Jin doesn’t love him back.” Kim Hieora added, “Still, I think it’s close to love. Like ‘he’s my man’… I think she has been used to that since she was young.”

Furthermore, Jung Sung Il, who portrayed Ha Do Young, commented about Yeon Jin, his wife in the drama, “Do Young loved Yeon Jin so much. To him, the relationships with five people only happen out of necessity. You guys acted so well that from a third-party perspective, I don’t even think I can use the word ‘love’ to describe it.”

The actor then mentioned Ha Do Young’s feelings towards Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo). He explained, “It’s not sympathy, but rather a good feeling, a good impression and things like that. At first, I was curious about her, and I waited to find out about that”, adding “She was the person who had an answer to every question I asked, and even gave answers that I hadn’t even thought of. So, I was drawn to her with a feeling of curiosity.”

Hearing that, Kim Gun Woo commented, “It feels like a long-awaited excitement. If I had to choose between liking and sympathy, it’s closer to liking”, and Jung Sung-il agreed with him.
