“The Glory” actress Park Ji Ah, “My first meeting with writer Kim Eun Sook? It was strange in a positive way”

Park Ji Ah, who appeared in Netflix’s original series “The Glory” as Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo)’s mother Jung Mi Hee, poured compliments for writer Kim Eun Sook in a phone interview conducted on the evening of March 17th.

Recalling when she first received the script of “The Glory”, the actress said, “I got a call from the director and the writer saying they wanted to meet her. However, I didn’t have high expectations for our meeting. Kim Eun Sook is a top screenwriter in Korea and I didn’t think I would be able to play one of the characters she was about to create. But after meeting them, they immediately gave me the script. I was really surprised.”

Park Ji Ah revealed that she was amazed once again even after receiving the script. Surprised after looking through the content of the script, the actress said, “I wondered how much effort the writer had put into creating and completing this world. It was so shocking. So I was excited to act, but also scared and nervous at the same time. I wondered whether I could perform a character that the writer had made so much effort to create”, showing her humble side.

When asked about her feelings when meeting writer Kim Eun Sook for the first time, Park Ji Ah replied, “It was really strange. However, that strange feeling was positive, not a negative one. I still can’t find a specific word to describe my feeling at that time and I’m still thinking about how to express it in words”. She continued, “Now that when I’m looking back on that moment, I think it felt like she was living in a different atmosphere and breathing a different air. She makes other people feel happy and excited just by being with them.”
