French beauty influencer who crashed IU’s shoulder at Cannes, Maria, posted a photo of a direct message (DM) she sent to IU on her Instagram story on the 28th (Korea Standard Time).
In the DM, Maria said to IU, “I’m so sorry for what happened on the red carpet yesterday,” adding, “I never meant to push you, I did it by mistake because security asked me to go faster, so I didn’t even realize it.”
She continued: “I would really like to apologize to you and offer you my makeup. I’m a makeup artist and I came to Cannes from Paris for the film festival for work. I hope you will see my messages and answer to me.”
Maria also conducted a live broadcast on Instagram that day. “I apologized,” she said through the broadcast. However, due to the unclear explanation, her Instagram comment window was covered with ‘vomit emoticons’ of IU fans.
Before that, Maria was accused of intentionally pushing IU’s shoulder at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival taking place at dawn on the 27th.
