The final winner of “Queendom 2” has been announced, and it’s WJSN.
Prior to the main stage, Taeyeon revealed the method of selecting the first place and the results of the pre-voting. The final winner will be decided by adding 40,000 points from the first three preliminary rounds and 60,000 points from the final round.
Hyolyn ranked first in the overall pre-final rankings and Kep1er ranked sixth, but Hyolyn ranked sixth in terms of digital score on the music chart while LOONA ranked first, signaling unpredictable results.
With the final round starting in earnest, Hyolyn is the first one to step onto the stage. Hyolyn prepared “Waka Boom”. Lee Young-ji, a popular icon among the MZ generation, was invited to be Hyolyn’s supporter, and the duo completed a spectacular and unconventional stage.
Next, WJSN decided to present Exy’s self-composed song “AURA.” “We prepared hard for the final round with the determination of showing a totally WJSN-ish song. I think there is no composer who knows the color of this team as well as the characteristics and charm of this team as much as I. I worked with pride and confidence. If WJSN is a book, ‘AURA’ is the last page. We want to start with this song for more diverse challenges in the future,” Exy said. WJSN perfectly portrayed their color on stage with “AURA”, drawing admiration.
Kep1er prepared “THE GIRLS (can’t turn me down)” with confidence. Chae-hyun said, “The lyrics are strong, firm and contain a lot of bold aspirations. You’ll be able to see a Kep1er full of spite this time too,” she said confidently. Like their aspirations, Kep1er impressed with their intense energy.
In the case of VIVIZ, they had a lot of difficulties in selecting the right song, but they soon found the answer. The team decided to perform “Red Sun,” which was almost included in their album when they were still GFriend, and even was nominated to be the title song. VIVIZ added fun to the stage reminiscent of a musical and predicted a high ranking.
LOONA once again focus on expressing their own colors through their new song “POSE.” LOONA said, “We thought it would be nice to challenge things that no girl groups have ever done. It’s a concept that we haven’t done before, but it’s also a song that only we can do. In that sense, our colors do not overlap with other groups. We want to show that we are a totally different girl group.” LOONA then showed off their unique charm by capturing everything, from the hiphop atmosphere to the pop aspects in one song.
The last team to take over the stage was Brave Girls, who faced the threat of elimination in previous rounds. Brave Girls said, “We want to run straightforward, not backward anymore,” adding, “We want to show an exciting stage as if we are having a party on stage. We want to make the audience stand up.” The song Brave Girls prepared was “Whistle” with a summer vibe. “It was their best performance. I dare to say that this song will follow ‘Rollin’,” Yeo-reum of WJSN exclaimed.
After the performances of all 6 teams, the final winner was revealed. With WJSN and LOONA named as candidates for the “Queen” trophy, WJSN won. Bona said, “I was so surprised because it is an unexpected award for us. Thank you,” she said, crying. Yeo-reum said, “We are grateful to our families and UJUNG (WJSN fandom name) who always trust and wait for us.”
