The bidding price for the Mercedes-Benz that Jungkook (BTS) rode surpassed 500 million the moment the auction resumed
Despite the extra cost to acquire the vehicle, buyers are determined to get their hands on the car.
On the 6th, a special auction for the AMG G 63 (Mercedes-Benz) began at Seoul Auction’s open market auction platform, Black Lot. The vehicle was known to have been driven directly by Jungkook (BTS) and attracted a lot of attention.
As of 5 p.m. on the 9th (KST), the highest price was 505 million won, 3 times the starting bid of 150 million won. Only Korean adults are allowed to participate in the auction. The winning bid for the vehicle does not include all expenses for the acquisition, such as acquisition/registration tax and auto insurance premiums. Hence, the winning bidder must pay for the extra cost themselves. Despite the tricky conditions to acquire the vehicle, numerous bidders gathered.
“A large number of foreign bidders were confirmed, and we tried to identify them through various means, but there were cases where it could not be confirmed.”
“If the auction is held in a situation where the identity of the bidder is not identified, there may be problems such as damage to genuine bidders, so we decided to stop the auction for now,” explained Black Lot.
