The Korean film race in 2021 becomes busier than ever with the arrival of a series of emotional and romantic titles. However, most of them did not meet the expectations of the audience.
1. Nevertheless
‘Nevertheless‘, which is expected to become a blockbuster by owning a hot 19+ content line with the presence of two bright actors, Song Kang – Han So Hee. However, ‘Nevertheless’ officially became the “bombshell” of the year when it received a lot of criticism from the bland script, lack of emphasis on acting to the actors’ scandals in their private lives.

2. My Roommate Is A Gumiho
‘My Roommate Is A Gumiho’ is adapted from the webtoon of the same name with the content revolving around a fantasy love story between a fox fairy and a human. Owning a beautiful cast and humorous details, ‘My Roommate Is A Gumiho’ cannot avoid the fate of a tragic flop when recording ratings going backward. Even Hyeri was considered an overrated version of Reply 1988’s Duk Sun.

3. Love Alarm 2
Following in the footsteps of the success of season 1, Love Alarm 2 from before its debut has become the attention of the public everywhere with the audience’s expectations. However, this scenario only continues until the audience enjoys the entire 6 episodes. Even the ending of ‘Love Alarm 2’ caused a huge controversy and caused the female lead Kim Soo Hyun to receive a lot of criticism.

4. Doom At Your Service
Similar to ‘My Roommate Is A Gumiho’, Doom At Your Service also possesses a fantasy motif when exploiting the love story between Gods and humans. The film was also evaluated quite well in the first half with a series of anesthetic episodes and the good acting of the couple Seo In Guk – Park Bo Young. However, the latter of the film revealed the unstable core with many confusing details and had to sadly close with the rating bottoming at 2.3%.
