“Taxi Driver 2” Lee Je Hoon, “Nam Goong Min’s cameo appearance was my idea… He took the script with him on his honeymoon trip”
Actor Lee Je Hoon expressed his gratitude to actor Nam Goong Min for making a special appearance in “Taxi Driver 2”.
On April 17th, Lee Je Hoon had an interview with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He shared, “I personally asked Nam Goong Min to appear in ‘Taxi Driver 2’.”
In episode 9 of SBS’s drama “Taxi Driver 2”, which aired on March 24th, Nam Goong Min showed up shortly with the “One Dollar Lawyer” concept. Before that, Lee Je Hoon also played the cameo role of top star Lee Je Hoon in Nam Goong Min’s work “One Dollar Lawyer”. This interaction between the two actors as “SBS drama worldview integration” received favorable responses from viewers.
Lee Je Hoon said, “Nam Goong Min asked me if I could make a short appearance in ‘One Dollar Lawyer’ first, and at that moment, I already thought it would be really nice if he could also appear in ‘Taxi Driver 2’”, adding “So I proposed the idea to him, and he immediately agreed, saying ‘I’d love to’. After receiving a promise from him to appear in ‘Taxi Driver 2’, I also discussed it with the director and production team leader.”
The actor continued, “Nam Goong Min was supposed to appear in the Black Sun story (episodes 11~14), but I thought it would be more interesting if he could come out in the drama as Chun Ji Hoon of ‘One Dollar Lawyer’. With that idea, I was surprised when realizing that dramas produced by SBS can share their worldviews.” He added, “I felt so sorry that he had to bring the script along with him even when he was on his honeymoon trip because his character had so many lines. I was so sorry that I could only give reactions to him. In fact, I was very amazed when watching him act on the set. He perfectly performed long lines in one go, in such a cool manner.”
SBS’s Fri-Sat drama “Taxi Driver 2” (written by Oh Sang Ho, directed by Lee Dan) is a private revenge drama in which Rainbow Taxi Company and taxi driver Kim Do Ki (Lee Je Hoon) take private revenge on behalf of unfair victims. According to Nielsen Korea, the last episode of Season 2 recorded a new viewer rating peak of 25.6%, which is the highest result among 2023 miniseries at the moment.
