Tang Wei Sends Heartfelt Message from Beijing after Receiving the Director’s Cut Award Trophy for Best Actress

Tang Wei, who won big for her role in “Decision to Leave” at the Director’s Cut Award, delivered a touching greeting from Beijing.

On March 20th, Tang Wei shared a photo of her Best Actress trophy from the Director’s Cut Awards on Instagram. She wrote, “I received it this morning. After translating the words written on the trophy, I was deeply moved. Thank you.“

The inscription on the trophy reads, “To Tang Wei, the actress who has captivated us with her unforgettable performance and will be remembered for a long time. This award is presented by Korean film directors for the Best Actress in a movie.”

Tang Wei won Best Actress for her performance in “Decision to Leave” at the 21st Director’s Cut Awards held last month. The Best Actor award went to her co-star Park Hae Il, while the Best Director award went to “Decision to Leave” director Park Chan Wook.  

Due to her shooting schedule in Beijing, Tang Wei was unable to attend the award ceremony in person. Instead, her husband, director Kim Tae Yong, appeared via live video to express her gratitude on her behalf. 

Tang Wei said in a video letter, “I am grateful to everyone who delivered warm love for the movie. I was honored to meet director Park Chan Wook and receive much attention and support. I will see you in more diverse ways in the future.” 

A month after receiving the award, Tang Wei finally received her trophy and shared a heartfelt message with the fans.
