Tang Wei, “Director Park, I really love you. You’re the person who made my life complete”… Park Chan-wook, “I want to tell her the same”

Actress Tang Wei expressed her feelings about working with director Park Chan-wook.

Director Park Chan-wook, Tang Wei, Park Hae-il, and writer Jung Seo-kyung of “Decision to Leave”, which was selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, attended the press conference held at 11:30 a.m on May 24th (local time) with global media and talked about their movie.

Regarding her feelings about working with director Park Chan-wook, Tang Wei expressed her gratitude, saying, “Being here with everyone, I’m also really nervous. I love director Park Chan-wook so much. He has made such a great work. He gave us the characters. Especially a character like Seo-rae. That’s why after the screening last night finished, I told him ‘Thank you so much, director. You are the person who made my life complete’. I can only summarize the whole period that I worked with director Park in that one sentence.”

Park Chan-wook said, “I want to say the same thing to Tang Wei”, adding, “Reflection”, making everyone laugh.

Decision to Leave” is a movie telling the story of detective Hae-jun (Park Hae-il) having both feelings of suspicion and love after meeting Seo-rae (Tang Wei), the wife of the deceased in the murder he is investigating.

The movie was released as a world premiere at the Grand Theatre Lumiere in Cannes, France at 6 p.m on May 23rd (local time). With the attendance of director Park Chan-wook as well as the lead actors Tang Wei and Park Hae-il, the screening ended successfully with the big applause from the audience who filled the theater that night. “Decision to Leave” is scheduled to premiere in Korea on June 29th.
