A bold and highly anticipated reunion is set to unfold at the 17th Melon Music Awards (MMA) on December 20, as Jennie of BLACKPINK, G-Dragon, and Kai of EXO are all confirmed to appear in the final performer lineup.

What makes this lineup especially intriguing is the romantic history that links Jennie to both G-Dragon and Kai.

Jennie kai dating
Jennie received much sarcasm when she revealed dating information with Kai.

Jennie and G-Dragon were rumored to be dating in 2022, a topic that remained unconfirmed but widely accepted by fans. Although rumors of a breakup followed later, the two never made an official statement. Now, for the first time in years, they will share the stage as solo artists—an occurrence that was rare even during their peak group promotions.

Jennie and Kai publicly acknowledged their relationship in January 2019, but ended it just a month later, stating they had decided to focus on their careers and return to a senior-junior relationship.

Jennie released her first full-length solo album “Ruby” in March, showcasing her artistic identity and musical versatility. The album received widespread acclaim from global media outlets, many of which named it one of the best albums of 2025. The title track “Like JENNIE” captured listeners with its confident lyrics and powerful performance qualities only Jennie could embody. It entered the Melon Top 100 chart immediately upon release and has impressively stayed there for nine months, even reaching No.1 on the daily chart 14 times.

G-Dragon, meanwhile, confirmed his participation in MMA 2025 earlier. In February, he dropped his third studio album “Übermensch” after 11 years and 5 months, achieving 1 million streams within just four hours. This feat earned him a spot in Melon’s prestigious “Millions Album” Hall of Fame as the fastest solo artist to reach the milestone.

Kai returns to the MMA stage for the first time in six years with EXO, marking his comeback after completing military service. With a fan meeting scheduled in December and EXO’s 8th full-length album set for release in early 2026, the group’s appearance at MMA 2025 is set to heighten anticipation for their upcoming activities.
