On April 6, a new video titled “Taenglog in Tokyo (feat. Pingu x Taeng-geu)” was uploaded to Taeyeon’s YouTube channel, showcasing her trip to Tokyo, Japan. The vlog captured both excitement and nervousness, as it marked her first solo trip in 19 years since debut.
One of the most eye-catching moments took place at the Pingu x Taeng-geu pop-up store. Upon spotting Japan-exclusive pajamas, Taeyeon exclaimed, “They don’t have this in Korea. You can’t buy it at all!” She added, “It’s going to disappear soon,” expressing clear disappointment. She was even seen laughing awkwardly and saying, “That’s unfortunate.”

The pajamas were originally part of a collection with multiple designs, but only one final version remained. Since Taeyeon had personally participated in the product’s creation, her emotions were more complex. She ended up purchasing the items herself, spending ₩330,000 in total as gifts for three staff members showing both pride and a hint of bittersweet sentiment from buying with her own money.

Even after the purchase, lighthearted moments continued. When she received a photo of herself given exclusively to buyers, she joked, “My money, my photo,” smiling shyly. She paused briefly while looking at the photocard in her hand, adding a warm and playful touch to the scene.

Taeyeon also revisited the Shibuya Taeng-geu store for the first time in 10 years, where she left her signature on a large poster displayed on the wall. Smiling, she remarked, “I’m the mother of this character,” naturally expressing her affection and pride.
Meanwhile, through this Tokyo trip, Taeyeon revealed a newfound interest in solo travel, and fans continue to respond enthusiastically to her vlog and personal reflections.
