On April 7, Ju Ji Hoon held an interview at ENA’s headquarters in Sangam-dong, Seoul, where he discussed his role and key moments from the drama Climax.
Climax follows prosecutor Bang Tae Seop, played by Ju Ji Hoon, who dives into a powerful cartel in his pursuit of the top position in South Korea. The story centers on intense survival struggles among those entangled in power and ambition.
In the drama, Ju Ji Hoon plays Bang Tae Seop, a character driven purely by ambition who enters into a strategic marriage with top actress Chu Sang Ah, portrayed by Ha Ji Won. Their relationship drew early attention, particularly due to a bold bathroom kiss scene.

Speaking about the scene, Ju Ji Hoon said, “From a film perspective, it wasn’t actually that provocative.” He added, “It was just a simple moment where our lips touched, but when I saw it on broadcast, it felt much more intense.”
He explained that the drama was originally intended for a mature (19+) rating, but after partnering with ENA and Genie TV, it was adjusted to a 15+ rating. “Even though I expected it, seeing it on television made it feel more daring. It’s all relative,” he said.
“Depending on the platform, the same scene can feel very different. In a theater, viewers are mentally prepared, but on TV, it can feel more direct,” he added.

Ju Ji Hoon emphasized that the scene did not involve explicit exposure or excessive expression. “Despite that, the reaction was bigger than I expected, which surprised me,” he admitted.
He also reflected on changing viewing habits, noting, “The same setup or scene can be perceived differently depending on the platform. These days, I find myself considering those differences more.”
He concluded, “Even scenes that didn’t feel particularly bold during filming can be interpreted differently depending on the viewing environment, and that’s something I’ve come to realize.”
