Japan’s entertainment industry has been shaken after authorities arrested 22-year-old actress and model Suzu Sannomiya and her boyfriend, TikToker Aoki Keishiro, in connection with an alleged ketamine possession case.
According to Yahoo Japan, the pair were taken into custody after police discovered approximately 2.67 grams of ketamine inside a vehicle they had been traveling in together.

According to investigators, the incident began on the night of June 9 in downtown Kochi, Japan. Police received a report from a member of the public who claimed to have seen a social media video showing a man allegedly displaying signs of illegal drug use. The caller also reported that the individual was believed to be at a local bar.
Authorities immediately dispatched officers to inspect the venue and identify the man, who was later confirmed to be Aoki Keishiro, a 28-year-old TikToker with nearly 50,000 followers.

Police said Aoki Keishiro allegedly resisted questioning, refused to undergo a urine test, and attempted to flee. During a subsequent search of his vehicle, officers discovered approximately 2.67 grams of ketamine inside a backpack located on the rear seat. Because Suzu Sannomiya had been traveling in the same vehicle, police arrested both individuals as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities stated that Suzu Sannomiya cooperated with investigators and voluntarily accompanied officers for questioning. Her urine test returned negative for illegal drugs. However, police did not release the actress after examining evidence recovered during the investigation.

According to investigators, data extracted from mobile phones indicated that Suzu Sannomiya and Aoki Keishiro had spent several consecutive days together and had reportedly slept inside the same vehicle on multiple occasions. Based on those findings, authorities suspect she may have been aware of the ketamine’s presence in the car and are investigating the case under Japan’s laws regarding joint possession of narcotics.
Suzu Sannomiya was formally arrested on June 26. During questioning, she denied all accusations, maintaining that the ketamine did not belong to her and insisting that she had no knowledge the drugs were inside the vehicle. Police in Kochi Prefecture continue to investigate the origin of the ketamine, the purpose of its possession, and each suspect’s level of involvement.

Following news of the arrests, internet users resurfaced an old video allegedly showing Aoki Keishiro displaying unusual behavior that some speculated could be consistent with drug use. The clip also reportedly includes a voice believed to be Suzu Sannomiya’s, further fueling online discussion.
According to Japanese media reports, the couple had dated for several years, traveled together to Spain and other European countries, later separated, and had only recently rekindled their relationship before the arrest.
Born in 2004, Suzu Sannomiya entered the entertainment industry in 2020 after appearing on ABEMA’s dating reality show Today, I Fell in Love – Summer Sky Arc. Her fresh image quickly earned her recognition as an exclusive model for TEENS magazine, while she also appeared at major fashion events including Tokyo Girls Collection and Kansai Collection. In 2022, she beat more than 3,100 contestants to win the Readers’ Choice Award at Miss Magazine 2022. She made her acting debut in the 2023 film Goodbye, Erymantos, and in recent years had been widely regarded as one of Japan’s most promising young actresses.
With the investigation still ongoing, the allegations have cast significant uncertainty over the future of her rapidly rising career.
