Surpassing BTS, New Jeans Voted As “Best Singer Of The Year,” “Hype Boy” “Best Song Of The Year” By Entertainment Insiders

This year was undoubtedly the year of the group New Jeans

JoyNews 24, a high-quality entertainment business magazine, conducted a survey on the best dramas, singers, songs in 2023 on the 19th anniversary of its foundation. The survey involved 200 entertainment insiders, including officials from entertainment companies and broadcasters, film and broadcast content producers, and entertainment reporters.

In this survey, New Jeans won the title of ‘Best Singer of the Year in 2023’ a year and two months after its debut with 112 out of 200 votes.

Although BTS currently has a hiatus due to military service, many voted for the male group as the “singer of the year.” Following Jungkook, BTS was ranked third with 15 votes.

IVE was ranked fourth with 16 votes, while Lim Young-woong received 9 votes and ranked fifth. Seventeen, which is achieving a new record for K-pop album sales this year, came in sixth with six votes, and BLACKPINK came in seventh with four votes.

In addition, BTS’s j-hope, LE SSERAFIM, SHINee, NCT, NCT DREAM, TXT, Monsta X and many others were also listed.

In the “Song of the Year” category, New Jeans’ “Hype Boy,” which was released in August last year, won the No.1 with 74 out of 200 votes, winning more than one-third of the votes.

In the “Best Song of the Year” TOP10, a total of four songs by New Jeans were present, including “Ditto,” “Super Shy” and “ETA.” “Ditto” was ranked second with 26 votes, “Super Shy” tied for fifth with eight votes, and “ETA” was ranked ninth with six votes.

BTS Jungkook’s solo song “Seven” was ranked third in the “Song of the Year” following New Jeans’ “Hype Boy” and “Ditto.” It was followed by Younha’s song “Event Horizon,” which received 12 votes and ranked fourth. IVE’s “I AM” and “After Like” have received eight votes, tying for fifth with New Jeans’ “Super Shy.” Fifty Fifty’s “One Hit Wonder” hit song “Cupid” was ranked eighth with 7 votes.
