Singer Sunye shed tears as she talked about her family’s story.
The March 2nd broadcast of KBS 2TV’s entertainment program “Godfather” featured Sunye, who was invited by Woo Hye-lim and her mother Kang Joo-eun.
On this day, Kang Joo-eun drew attention by carefully wrapping the cookies she made for Woo Hye-lim and Sunye. Sunye, who was watching this scene, confessed that she was raised by her grandparents after her parents’ divorce, saying, “I lived with my grandmother, so I didn’t have such memories with my mother.” Sunye then added, “I heard that my mother died when I was 5.”
Sunye said that when she was a child, she was envious of her friends who brought thermos that their mothers gave them. She burst into tears, “Seeing you taking pretty care of me, I remember when I was young. I’m very happy that I can become a mother and do that to my children.”
Kang Joo-eun comforted Sunye, “I’m so happy to be able to share the cookies with you, and I feel like my mother in heaven is with me.” Kang Joo-eun then said in an interview with the production team, “I suddenly stopped breathing (after hearing Sunye’s story). I wanted to send them sincerely in a pretty basket, but I was very grateful that it felt great to Sunye.”
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV’s “Godfather” airs every Wednesday at 10:40 PM.
