Using Samsung, speculations surfaced the internet on the rumored relationship of BLACKPINK’s Jennie and BTS’s V
BLACKPINK’s Jennie and BTS’ V’s phone use became the center of attention.
The alleged selfie between BLACKPINK’s Jennie and BTS’s V, is heating up online, sparking rumors of their relationship. Jennie, whose ambassadorship with Samsung has expired, uses Apple’s iPhone whereas BTS’s V, the current Samsung brand endorsement ambassador, uses Samsung Galaxy.
Recently, a mirror selfie of two people believed to be BLACKPINK’s Jennie and BTS’s V is making headlines. The place is the same as where V took selfies for his social media in the past, raising speculations that the two took the picture at V’s house.
The smartphone that the alleged Jennie in the picture was using is the iPhone 13. On the back, there is a three-lense camera module unique to the iPhone.
Previously, BLACKPINK, including Jennie, were ambassadors for Samsung Galaxy. In 2019, the Galaxy A80 “Black Pink Special Edition” aimed at the Southeast Asian market was released. Jennie was an active endorser for KT TV commercials to promote ‘Galaxy Note 20’ upon its release.
However, after the contract with Samsung expired,BLACKPINK suffered a wave of criticism by posting on social media with the members using iPhones. At the time, BLACKPINK member Jisoo said, “Wow, I barely changed it with a selfie photo taken with the iPhone 13. Regarding the new phone, cute case”. Internet users responded by saying, “When the Samsung contract ended, I transferred to the iPhone without mercy,” leading to a heated debate.
On the other hand, V, a Samsung model, is still using the Galaxy. V’s past selfies, taken in the same place as the photo that ignited the romance rumor, included a smartphone with three cameras arranged vertically and side by side. When looking at the rear design, it is assumed that this is a model of the ‘Galaxy S22’ series.
As BTS has been working as a Galaxy model for Samsung for a long time, it seems that he is using Samsung products in real life. Samsung also is active in collaborating with BTS for marketing with the release of ‘Galaxy S20 BTS Edition’. BTS also appeared as a video at the Galaxy S21 unpack event in February last year. Furthermore, the purple color, which symbolizes BTS, has become the representative element for Galaxy products. It is also showing the color of “Bora Purple” in the fourth generation series of the recently released foldable phone “Galaxy Z“.
However, there are rumors stating BTS can also transfer to Apple’s iPhone after the Samsung contract expires. An official from the telecommunications industry said, “BLACKPINK’s contract with Samsung has expired for two years, so it is not something to criticize the use of Apple products. Other ambassadors will also be able to use their preferred personal smartphones depending on the contract situation.”
