Five years after capturing hearts in Love Alarm, South Korean stars Song Kang and Kim So Hyun are set to reunite in the upcoming romance drama White Scandal, a project already generating significant buzz among K-drama fans.

The new series follows Ji Eun Seol, portrayed by Kim So Hyun, a former child actress whose once-promising career collapses after she takes responsibility for her older brother’s mistake. Losing everything overnight, Eun Seol refuses to give up on her artistic dreams and quietly retreats behind the scenes, working as a talent manager while carrying the weight of her past.

Fate intervenes when she crosses paths again with Dan Yi Hyuk, played by Song Kang, the man who once stood at the center of the life-altering scandal that changed her trajectory. Dan Yi Hyuk is a top Hallyu star and the illegitimate son of a powerful conglomerate family, entangled in a fierce inheritance battle. In an effort to fulfill his late mother’s final wish and distance himself from the ruthless corporate power struggle, Yi Hyuk proposes a contract relationship with Eun Seol. What begins as a calculated arrangement gradually blurs the line between performance and reality, as genuine emotions surface and long-buried secrets begin to unravel.

More than a conventional romantic drama, White Scandal promises a layered narrative about reclaiming truth, restoring honor and rediscovering one’s identity amid deception and ambition. The series is adapted from a popular original work and is expected to deliver a tightly written, emotionally resonant script by writer Kim Ga Eun, known for Call It Love.

Directing the project is Kim Cheol Kyu, who previously gained acclaim for Mother and Flower of Evil, raising expectations for a visually refined and emotionally intense production.

The drama is currently in the casting phase and is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of the year, after Song Kang completes his shooting schedule for the upcoming project Four Hands.

Fans are already eagerly anticipating the new on-screen chemistry between the two stars, hoping their long-awaited reunion will recreate — and perhaps surpass — the magic that first made them a beloved pairing.
