Song Kang Ho selected as presenter for Cannes’ closing ceremony, 3 consecutive years in attendance

Actor Song Kang Ho was selected as a presenter for the closing ceremony of the 76th Cannes Film Festival, marking his 3rd consecutive attendance.

Song Kang Ho enjoyed the honor of being invited to the Cannes Film Festival for the 8th time with “Cobweb. In 2021, he was the first Korean male actor to be a judge in the Main competition section. Following winning Best Actor in 2022, he was selected as a presenter for the closing ceremony in 2023, setting a record of attending the closing ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival for 3 years in a row.

Meanwhile, director Kim Jee Woon’s new film “Cobweb” revolves around director Kim (Song Kang Ho), who is obsessed with the fact that the ending of the movie Cobweb, which was filmed in the 1970s, would be better if re-filmed. It is a film that depicts the sad and funny things that happen while filming under conditions.

At the closing ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival, awards will be given in a total of 9 categories, including Palme d’Or, Grand Prix, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay.

This is Song Kang Ho’s 8th time attending the Cannes Film Festival after “The Host” (2006), “Secret Sunshine” (2007), “The Good, the Bad, the Weird” (2008), “Thirst” (2009), “Parasite” (2019), “Emergency Declaration” (2021) and “Broker” (2022).

In 2021, he played two roles as the main actor of “Emergency Declaration”, which was selected to be screened out of competition, and was the first Korean male actor to be a judge in the Main competition section.
