Song Joong Ki, “I got a knee injury. Without stuntman Ki Hyun, I wouldn’t have been able to finish ‘Descendants of the Sun’”

Actor Song Joong Ki expressed his gratitude to Yoon Ki Hyun, who was his stuntman when filming “Descendants of the Sun”.

Song Joong Ki appeared on tvN’s survival entertainment show “Super Action”, which aired on November 27th, and revealed his friendship with 9STUNT Yoon Ki Hyun.

Competing in a survival competition for stuntmen, 9STUNT team boasted about their diverse experiences of filming disaster films. 9STUNT has participated in various famous movies, such as “The Pirates”, “Tower”, “Sinkhole”, “The Terror Live”, etc.

In addition, member Yoon Ki Hyun of 9STUNT is also famous as Song Joong Ki’s stuntman in the drama “Descendants of the Sun”. In an interview with the production team, Song Joong Ki said, “Ki Hyun, the friend who acted as my body double when filming ‘Descendants of the Sun’, reacted very quickly when doing fast movements. When actors do stunts, there’s normally a camera technique that makes the moves look faster. But I remember that Ki Hyun didn’t even need it”, praising Yoon Ki Hyun.

Song Joong Ki then said, “My got an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tear due to an accident and couldn’t even walk. But Mr. Ki Hyun… It’s funny that I’m calling him ‘Mr. Ki Hyun’. He’s a younger brother who is really close to me. Ki Hyun performed many of my parts. Without Ki Hyun, I wouldn’t have been able to finish ‘Descendants of the Sun’”, expressing his gratitude as well as their strong friendship.

Yoon Ki Hyun also shared, “Honestly, I’m confident in everything. I appeared on this program to show real actions”.
