Song Joong Ki also cheered… CJ Vice Chairman Lee Mi Kyung won Achievement Award at International Emmy Directorate Award

CJ Group’s Vice Chairman Lee Mi Kyung received the Achievement Award at the 2022 International Emmy Directorate Award.

This award is given to organizations or individuals who have made outstanding contributions worldwide in the broadcasting industry.

Vice Chairman Lee Mi Kyung was selected as the winner at the “2022 International Emmy Directorate Award” held in New York on Nov 22nd (local time) in recognition of her contribution to Hallyu’s global spread and the development of the cultural industry.

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (IATAS), which hosts the International Emmy Directorate Award, evaluated Vice Chairman Lee, “She’s a visionary leader who has harnessed her exceptional business acumen and love of her country’s culture by tirelessly spearheading the global phenomenon of Hallyu for over 25 years.”

Vice Chairman Lee shared her thoughts, “It’s a great honor to win the Achievement Award at the International Emmy Directorate Award, which celebrates its 50th anniversary. I’m happy to continue to serve as a cultural bridge for many creators to realize their dreams for over 25 years since CJ started its entertainment business.”

Actor Song Joong Ki attended the event as a presenter and congratulated Vice Chairman Lee on her award. Song Joong Ki said, “Vice Chairman Lee is a Korean culture ambassador. Vice Chairman Lee took the lead in promoting everything about Korea. She spared no support for Korean artists. No one deserves this award more than Vice Chairman Lee.”

Decision to Leave

Vice Chairman Lee served as the executive producer of “Parasite”, “Decision to Leave” and “Broker”. Since 2020, she has also served as vice chairman of the board of directors of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

In October, she won the Pillar Award, which is given to producers who have contributed to the development of films, at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ first anniversary gala held in Los Angeles, USA.
