SBS’s entertainment program “Running Man” broadcast on May 19th showed the members struggling to make their debut as idols. IVE members Ahn Yu-jin and Rei appeared as guests in this episode.
During the opening section, the members talked about “Running Man” being selected as the most influential weekend entertainment program by the Korea Customers Council for three years in a row. Yang Se-chan complained, “We’re always No.1. Why doesn’t anyone know?”. Song Ji-hyo added, “I want to brag about it”.
Next, Song Ji-hyo surprised everyone with her swollen face. The actress explained that she had a small laser surgery after a long time. Kim Jong-kook said, “I’m afraid I’ll say useless things. You should tell me about it first”. Song Ji-hyo replied, “What I heard today was that I looked like ‘200 Pounds Beauty’”.
In response, Yoo Jae-suk commented, “Ji-hyo is in pain right now”, referring to the state of Song Ji-hyo’s swollen face after the laser procedure.
In the meantime, IVE’s Ahn Yu-jin and Rei showed up. Ahn Yu-jin joined Kim Jong-kook’s agency while Rei became a member of Yoo Jae-suk’s agency. Rei and Yoo Jae-suk named their company Bbanggood Entertainment, while Kim Jong-kook and Ahn Yu-jin chose Tube Entertainment. Each agency had to select two trainees so Yang Se-chan, Ji Seok-jin, Song Ji-hyo and Haha participated in the audition.
The first trainee Ji Seok-jin sang Cho Yong-pil’s “Mona Lisa” enthusiastically, but Ahn Yu-jin said the song was too old. “I can see your strengths and weaknesses. Your voice sounds so good when you sing, but you don’t have the gestures of singers on music programs these days”, Ahn Yu-jin then commented and then danced to the same song, arousing compliments.
Song Ji-hyo stepped forward as the second trainee and introduced herself, saying “I’ve been preparing to become an idol since I was born. I underwent laser surgery because I want to look young today. My nickname is Song Se-ra. I got a shot and it got swollen”. As Yoo Jae-suk asked, “How many shots did you get?”, Song Ji-hyo replied, “600 shots”. Yoo Jae-suk then promised that he would give Song Ji-hyo the stage name “Sera600” if she came to his agency. Song Ji-hyo sang Seo Joo-kyung’s “Daring Woman”.
After the audition, Haha and Yang Se-chan went to Tube Entertainment, while Ji Seok-jin and Song Ji-hyo formed a team with Yoo Jae-suk and Ahn Yu-jin. They continued to solve quizzes in teams. In the end, Ahn Yu-jin won first place with 26 votes. Rei came 2nd with 16 votes, followed by No.3 Ji Seok-jin (11 votes), and No.4 Song Ji-hyo (7 votes). Haha and Yang Se-chan tied for last place with 5 votes.
