On the May 28 broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s Cultwo Show, Song Il-gook appeared as a guest during the “Special Invitation” segment alongside special DJ Kim Tae-woo.

During the show, Song Il-gook repeatedly cracked dad jokes, saying, “I’ve been riding a BMW lately bus, metro, walk,” and joking about his musical role by saying, “I play Lee Sang-seol. Not ‘health abnormality’ Lee Sang-seol, just Lee Sang-seol.”

Host Kim Tae-gyun teased him by saying, “I think I understand why Minguk is distancing himself from you,” prompting Song Il-gook to laugh and admit, “Minguk hates me.”

Despite the playful complaints, Song Il-gook continued joking throughout the broadcast.

When Kim Tae-gyun commented that he seemed “lighter these days,” the actor replied, “I’ve lost a lot of weight.”

After Kim Tae-gyun joked that Minguk probably had a harder time than his father, Song Il-gook shared, “Manse likes me these days. Our humor codes match perfectly.”

However, he later clarified that things were not entirely peaceful at home.

Discussing puberty, Kim Tae-woo mentioned that his eldest daughter who is the same age as the triplets had already gone through the difficult phase. Song Il-gook responded, “Girls mature faster. For us, we’re reaching the peak right now. All three of them are at the peak.”

When Kim Tae-gyun pointed out that Song had earlier said Manse was doing fine, the actor explained, “Our comedy styles match, but he’s still similar to the others. The way he looks at me… it’s like he’s looking at trash. Seriously. Whenever I go home.”

He added, “I don’t even nag them. I honestly don’t know why,” drawing laughter from the studio.

Kim Tae-gyun jokingly suggested bringing the triplets onto the show someday so everyone could “figure out who’s really at fault.”

Song Il-gook married judge Jeong Seung-yeon in 2008, and the couple welcomed triplets Daehan, Minguk, and Manse in 2012.

The family became nationwide favorites after appearing on The Return of Superman from 2014 to 2016, where viewers fell in love with the triplets’ adorable personalities and close bond with their father.

Born on March 16, 2012, the triplets are now in their second year of middle school and officially teenagers.

Outside of family life, Song Il-gook is currently appearing in the musical Haague.

The production is inspired by the story of the Hague Secret Emissaries, who traveled to The Hague in the Netherlands to expose Japan’s unjust invasion during the Korean Empire era. Song Il-gook portrays the historical figure Lee Sang-seol in the musical.

The actor is also widely known as the maternal great-grandson of independence activist Kim Jwa-jin, who led the Battle of Cheongsanri.
