The actors put more effort into character analysis than ever before. While creating the character Dong Eun, Song Hye Kyo focused on the point “Don’t act pitifully as Dong Eun is a character who needs a lot of comfort” so that revenge can be highlighted rather than the character. Director Ahn Gil Ho and Song Hye Kyo paid attention to details by constantly refining narration lines’ tone and speed in order to express Dong Eun’s distinct purpose.

Lee Do Hyun introduced Ju Yeo Jeong, “You can think of him as a light and pure person, but when you get to know him, he has a dark side as well.” Lee Do Hyun focused on portraying Ju Yeo Jeong’s soft appearance like a flower in a greenhouse and the darkness hidden inside him. Lim Ji Yeon, who plays Park Yeon Jin, the leader of violence, expressed confidence, “I’ll make a villain that only Lim Ji Yeon can do.” Writer Kim Eun Sook shared, “There will be no reason or glorification for Yeon Jin’s evil deeds and malice. That is the reason for the existence of this series.
