Song Hye-kyo and professor Seo Kyoung-duk to provide a “Korean map” on the website of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art

On October 9th, it is revealed that actress Song Hye-kyo and professor Seo Kyoung-duk of Sungshin Women’s University, who have donated Korean guidebooks to famous art museums and galleries worldwide, will provide a “Korean map” on the website of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)

LACMA is the largest art museum in the western United States, housing about 149,000 artworks from ancient times to the present.

In June, they produced a detailed Korean guidebook, including an introduction to the museum, map and visitor precautions, which has been freely available to Korean visitors. To celebrate Hangul Day, they have now provided a simplified “Korean map” on LACMA’s website. This marks the third language addition following English and Spanish, and it is highly meaningful.

Professor Seo said, “If you plan to visit LACMA, it’s a good idea to check the ‘Korean map’ on the website first, locate the exhibition halls, and use the detailed Korean guidebook provided when obtaining tickets for a more enjoyable museum visit.”

In 2006, Professor Seo attracted attention by introducing the first Korean voice service at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Since then, he and Song Hye-kyo have consistently donated Korean guidebooks to famous art museums and galleries worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto, and the Brooklyn Museum in New York.

Professor Seo stated, “We plan to expand our services to Europe. We will do our best until Korean language services are available at major art museums, galleries and famous tourist destinations worldwide.
