The two-shot scene of Song Hye Kyo and Kim Ji Won at the Baeksang Arts Awards is arousing keen interest from drama fans.
The winner of Best Drama Actress was announced in the second part of the award ceremony. Nominees for this category were “My Liberation Notes” Kim Ji Won, “Under the Queen’s Umbrella” Kim Hye Soo, “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Park Eun Bin, “The Glory” Song Hye Kyo and “Anna” Suzy.
Just before the winner was announced, the faces of the candidates, except for Kim Hye Soo, who couldn’t attend the event, were shown on the big screen. Among them, Song Hye Kyo and Kim Ji Won made headlines as they were placed side by side.
The two used to work with each other in KBS2’s hit drama “Descendants of the Sun”, written by Kim Eun Sook, in 2016. At the time, Song Hye Kyo played the role of doctor Kang Mo Yeon, while Kim Ji Won portrayed Yoon Myung Joo, a military doctor and daughter of a special commander.
After the award ceremony, a fan revealed on Twitter a two-shot photo of the two actresses and added the caption, “A two-shot of Kang Mo Yeon and Yoon Myung Joo… The two meet again after seven years, as candidates for Best Actress at Baeksang. This is so crazy. I hope they took a picture with each other”.
This post has gained huge popularity as it has exceeded more than 3,000 retweets and 200,000 views.
Meanwhile, the Best Actress (Television category) trophy went to “The Glory” Song Hye Kyo.
