On December 26th, Harper’s BAZAAR Korea uploaded a video titled “These Are the Questions Song Hye-kyo Got at Year-End Just Watching Her Is Funny | #B Contact Free Interview.” In the video, Song answered questions directly submitted by fans, engaging warmly and thoughtfully throughout the interview.
When asked what kind of life advice she would give to younger fans, Song said, “I hope they truly enjoy their age. There are things you can do at certain ages and things you can’t do later on. I think it’s good to experience as many meaningful things as possible.” She added, “I’ve traveled a lot, and I have so many memories from traveling when I was young. Whether the outcome is good or bad, I think trying what you want leaves fewer regrets.”
A question many fans were curious about followed: “What do you think when you look in the mirror every day?” Song laughed and replied, “I know people probably want me to say, ‘Why am I so pretty?’ but that’s not it.” She continued, “When I was younger, I was a bit chubby, so I used to think, ‘I need to lose weight quickly.’ These days, when I look in the mirror after makeup, I think, ‘I like today’s styling,’ or ‘This looks really new.’ But in everyday life, I mostly think, ‘I look tired.’”

Song also spoke about her recent special appearance in the Netflix series Genie, Make a Wish, which she joined through her friendship with writer Kim Eun-sook. “It was my first time doing smoky makeup for a role,” she said. “I only knew roughly what the character was, but I didn’t expect the look to be that bold. It felt like dressing up as a comic-book character, and filming was a lot of fun.”
During a lighthearted balance game segment, Song chose “eating only vegetables for life” over “eating only meat,” and firmly sided with dipping sauce separately rather than pouring it over fried pork. “I’m absolutely a dipper. I like things crispy,” she explained. She also preferred “contacting someone once a month” over “contacting someone 100 times a day.”
As for future roles, Song surprised fans by choosing a “dark heroine no one has ever seen” over a kind-hearted character. “I’ve played good roles too many times,” she said, hinting at a desire to challenge herself with something completely new.
