Song Da-eun’s Career
Song Da-eun is an actress and TV personality, who made her acting debut in the blockbuster movie “The Handmaiden” in 2016. She has since played various supporting roles in K-dramas, including “The Golden Spoon”, “More Than Friends”, “Once Again”, “Be Melodrama”, “Hold My Hand”, “Wednesday 3:30 PM”, and “Can’t Lose”.
In 2018, Song Da-eun drew attention for her appearance in the dating variety show “Heart Signal 2”, and in 2019, appeared on the reality show “Dear My Room”.
Burning Sun’s Related Controversy
In the past, she faced malicious comments and legal battles tied to both the dating rumors and her acquaintance with former BIGBANG member Seungri, which led to unfounded links to the “Burning Sun” scandal.
Addressing the accusations, Song firmly denied any involvement: “Burning Sun? Escort girl? Fake news? That’s not me. Don’t just see what you want to see and spread what you want to spread,” she stated. In April 2025, she also revealed she was pursuing legal action against those sending her defamatory messages: “You send me insulting emails? It actually makes identification easier. I’m more thankful for that.”
Dating Rumors
In 2022, rumors of a romance between Song Da-eun and BTS’s Jimin started to emerge for the first time. Particularly, a topic about the two’s dating rumor was published on the Korean forum Pann Nate, including 12 pieces of “evidence” such as alleged couple items and matching Instagram posts.
At the time, Song Da-eun addressed the dating rumors herself, asking people to “ask others” about things she’s “not related to”, and even implied that fandoms like ARMYs are “scary”. The actress even threatened to take legal action.
However, in 2024, Song Da-eun herself stirred up the old dating rumors with Jimin by sharing various videos and images on SNS. The images and videos all alluded to Jimin or BTS, leading to speculations about the two’s romance once again.
Most controversially, the actress even posted a photo of a pair of iPod cases with the names “Daeun” and “Jimin” written on them, before deleting it, leaving fans of BTS frustrated.
On August 27, 2025: Song Da-eun drew massive attention after uploading a TikTok video that quickly went viral. In the clip, she was seen waiting by an elevator at an apartment complex before BTS’s Jimin appeared. Greeting him unexpectedly, she caught Jimin off guard, prompting him to say: “Oh, you startled me. Did you know I was coming in? I came without telling you on purpose.”
The apartment was identified as Nine One Hannam, the luxury residence in Seoul where Jimin currently resides. Her remarks sparked further discussion but did not confirm or deny the alleged relationship. Meanwhile, HYBE, BTS’s management company, has not released an official statement regarding the newly surfaced video.
Controversy
According to fans, this isn’t Song Da-eun first rodeo in stirring dating rumors of herself. In the past, she published a post that was extremely similar to Kim Hyun-woo’s – her co-star on “Heart Signal 2”, leading to “lovestagram” suspicions.
Additionally, in 2019, Song Da-eun also revealed an image of a couch that resembled one belonging to producer Gray, leading to dating rumors of them.
Both aforementioned rumors were quickly debunked, but netizens couldn’t help but suspect Song Da-eun of trying to “media play” with intentionally easy-to-misunderstand posts.
