In a video uploaded on the “Fairy Jaehyung” channel on September 21, Son Ye-jin reflected on the hit drama “Crash Landing on You“, calling it “a refreshing and life-changing project.” She explained, “I gained so many overseas fans, and it became hugely popular internationally. I received countless letters from countries I’d never expected, like Canada, Australia, and Brazil.”
When asked by host Jung Jaehyung when the spark for Hyun Bin truly began, Son replied with a smile, “Actors separate work and real life. It wasn’t like I was thinking, ‘Ri Jeong-hyeok is so cool.’ It was the character who was cool.” She added, “But Hyun Bin and I had so many similarities—same age, similar debut years, both the youngest in our families, and even our parents are the same age. We could naturally relate without needing to explain much, and that brought us closer.”

She recalled that when they first worked together in the film The Negotiation, they barely had time to meet as most of their filming was separate. “We actually connected more during the promotional bus tours. That’s when I realized he was genuinely kind. It’s rare in this industry to meet someone who doesn’t put on a façade. Hyun Bin was just himself, and that honesty appealed to me,” she shared.
Pressed again on exactly when her feelings deepened, Son admitted, “Maybe around episode 3? But really, it wasn’t one moment—it built up over time.” When asked when Hyun Bin first fell for her, she joked, “Maybe he never did,” drawing laughter.

Son reflected warmly, “The drama ended with a happy ending, and my real life also turned into a happy ending because of it. That’s why so many people still support us.”
Now a mother to a 3-year-old son, she also revealed the realities of married life: “In our honeymoon phase, I tried every recipe to cook for my husband. But now, with our son, everything revolves around him. The other day I gave Hyun Bin leftover yukjeon (Pan-fried Battered Beef) after feeding our child and realized, ‘When was the last time he even got to eat this properly?’”
