South Korean forward Son Heung-min is set to part ways with Tottenham Hotspur, marking the end of a remarkable 10-year journey with the North London club. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Son is currently in advanced negotiations with Major League Soccer (MLS) club Los Angeles FC (LAFC).
“Son’s time at Tottenham is coming to an end,” Romano reported. “He has expressed his desire to leave this summer and has turned down offers from Saudi Arabian clubs in favor of joining the MLS.”
LAFC is expected to offer a transfer fee between €15–20 million, which is slightly below Tottenham’s original valuation. However, the LAFC side is determined to secure Son’s signature, viewing him as a key figure to boost both the team’s offensive power and its commercial profile, particularly among the Korean community in Los Angeles.
LAFC president John Thorrington previously stated, “We are building a global team, and Son Heung-min is the perfect player for that vision, with his experience and world-class talent.”

Son leaves behind a decade of dedication at Tottenham, having played 454 matches and scored 173 goals. He recently celebrated his first major trophy with the club, lifting the UEFA Europa League title. Following the final, he proudly referred to himself as a “legendary captain” of Tottenham.
The news has stunned fans worldwide, signaling a new chapter not only in Son’s career but also in the evolution of MLS, which continues to attract elite international talent.
