Famous girl group MAMAMOO will present their first official sub-unit
According to an article published by My Daily on August 22nd, MAMAMOO members Solar and Moonbyul will form a sub-unit group and are set to make their debut at the end of this month.
This will be the birth of MAMAMOO’s first sub-unit. Previously at their 1st solo concert in 2016, Solar, Wheein, Moonbyul, and Hwasa formed 2 units – the vocal and rapper line, performed on stage, and released an album, but this was closer to an event than official sub-units.
Solar and Moonbyul are so close it’s a running joke inside the fandom that the two are “dating”. Therefore, anticipation is higher than ever at the news of them forming MAMAMOO’s first official sub-unit.
Recently, Solar, who is considered a reliable vocalist, successfully completed her first musical challenge by taking on the leading role alongside seasoned actress Ok Joo Hyun in the musical “Mata Hari”.
Moonbyul, who is in charge of powerful rap and performance in MAMAMOO, has released two solo albums this year alone and has shown a variety of musical colors, receiving a lot of love from music fans.
