On July 30, Sohee, a former member of the K-pop group Alice, spoke out against malicious rumors surrounding her personal life and revealed that she has filed a lawsuit against those responsible for spreading false claims.
In a heartfelt post, Sohee addressed recent accusations alleging that she met her husband — 15 years her senior — while working at an adult entertainment venue. She firmly denied the rumors, calling them “groundless and fabricated,” and stated that the case has already been handed over to law enforcement for further investigation.
“From my trainee days to my retirement, I never once acted dishonorably,” she wrote. “I always gave my best and took pride in my work.”
Sohee clarified that she met her husband at a friend’s birthday party, and their relationship naturally progressed into marriage. She expressed that she is currently living the most stable and happy period of her life.
The former idol explained that the rumors began with a social media account boasting a large follower base, which falsely claimed she had met her husband while working in a bar. As the posts escalated, doctored chat screenshots and even threats involving her family were shared.
“My heart ached watching my honesty and dignity being twisted and doubted,” she said.
Thankfully, others who had also been victimized by the same account came forward, aiding in the swift progression of the case. Sohee emphasized that she intends to pursue the matter without leniency, stating that damaging someone’s life through lies cannot be overlooked. “This time, I will not show mercy. I am taking this all the way to the end,” she affirmed.
Despite her retirement from the entertainment industry, Sohee thanked fans who continue to support her and promised to occasionally share updates on her life.
Sohee rose to fame as the runner-up of SBS’s “K-pop Star 6” in 2016. She debuted as a soloist in May 2017 before joining Alice the following month. In April 2023, she married a businessman and announced her retirement from the entertainment world.
