Soccer Star Seol Youngwoo’s Past Remarks on Marriage and Ideal Type Draw Attention Amid Dating Rumor with Yang Yena

On a recent variety show appearance, Seol Youngwoo shared his thoughts on marriage and ideal types. On MBC’s ‘Point of Omniscient Interference’ on December 30, Seol Youngwoo asked senior player Kim Youngkwon, who has been married for a decade, “Do you recommend marriage?”
Seol Youngwoo expressed his eagerness for marriage, saying, “I want to get married quickly. I tell my older brother every day. I love babies so much.”
In response to a question about his ideal type, Seol Youngwoo described, “A woman who doesn’t use dialects like me,” and in the context of celebrities, he mentioned actress Go Yoon-jung.
Within a week of the broadcast, the dating rumors between Seol Youngwoo and Yang Yena surfaced, adding more fuel to the discussion.
One netizen claimed, “Ulsan Hyundai’s football national team member Seol Youngwoo and April member Yang Yena are dating. Those in the know are already aware. They use couple items like matching phone cases and hats.”
Another netizen suggested that Seol Youngwoo even engraved Yang Yena’s name in English (YENA) on his football cleats.
Coincidentally, Lee Kangin is rumored to be dating Lee Naeun. Lee Kangin and Seol Youngwoo play together in the national team, and both Lee Naeun and Yang Yena are former April members.
Regarding the rumors, Yang Yena’s agency responded, “It’s a personal matter,” refraining from confirming or denying.
Seol Youngwoo, a Ulsan HD football player, has been active as Korea’s national team member since last year. Known for his charming looks, he even gained the nickname ‘Ulsan Park Hyungsik.’ Yang Yena debuted with April in 2015 and has been pursuing solo activities since the group disbanded in May 2022.
