“I wanted to convey Yi-han’s sense of responsibility and human charm to viewers.” (So Ji-sub)
MBC-TV’s “Doctor Lawyer” (written by Jang Hong-cheol, directed by Lee Yong-seok and Lee Dong-hyun) broke its own record. Episode 6 of “Doctor Lawyer” aired on June 18th. This episode soared to the highest viewership rating of 7.6% (based on Nielsen Korea).
It increased by 1.2% compared to the previous day thanks to its tense story with stormy development. In particular, So Ji-sub‘s acting skills stood out. In episodes 5 and 6, Han Yi-han’s fluctuating emotional curve was drawn densely.
In episode 5, Yi-han revealed the secret of Geum Seok-ju (Geum Seok-young’s younger brother)’s death to Geum Seok-young (Im Soo-hyang). Geum Seok-young appealed, “The people who killed Seok-ju and my mother. After making them pay for their sins, I’ll receive my punishment.”
Yi-han’s affectionate side was also depicted. He visited his junior Choi Yo-seop (Lee Seung-woo) and sincerely hoped that Yo-seop would make a choice without regret, saying, “I was also a ghost doctor in the past.“
So Ji-sub expressed Yi-han with delicate emotional acting. He delivered to the small screen the loneliness and remorse that Yi-han had endured alone for 5 years for revenge after losing everything.
So Ji-sub confessed, “I wanted to convey Yi-han’s sense of responsibility and human charm to viewers. I carefully thought about each line and expression.“
