Another SNSD member is returning to the K-drama scene: Bare face yet still drop dead gorgeous

This SNSD member will hit the Korean small screen with a healing drama after “Jinxed At First” concludes.

2022 seems to be a “golden era” for SNSD members, as they slay both the Kpop and Kdrama industry. After Seohyun appeared on “Jinxed At First” and Yoona on “Big Mouth”, Sooyoung will also be returning within August with a leading role. In particular, the idol will become the female lead of “If You Wish Upon Me”, starring alongside famous actor Ji Chang Wook

If Yoona and Seohyun both impress with their outstanding styling in their respective works, then Sooyoung is going to bring her bare face to the screen. Playing the nurse Seo Yeon Joo, Sooyoung often appears with no makeup, simple and tidy hairstyles, and plain nurse scrubs. This is a move not many Kpop idols would dare to try, especially when they have to stand alongside dashing and beautiful actors and actresses. However, Sooyoung shines no matter what, and time seems to have forgotten her, as the female idol still looks super youthful in her 30s.

As of the moment, Sooyoung’s return to the K-drama scene is highly anticipated. Her upcoming series “If You Wish Upon Me”, will bring healing feelings to its watchers. In addition, Sooyoung’s co-star is the famous actor Ji Chang Wook, who will assume the role of male lead Yoon Gyeo Rye – an orphan that also spent time in a juvenile detention center and prison. Now, he struggles to have a normal life, and begins to volunteer at a hospice after an accident. There, he works with volunteer team leader Kang Tae-Sik (Sung Dong-Il) and Nurse Seo Yeon-Joo (Sooyoung), who hates him at first sight.

“If You Wish Upon Me” is expected to be a quality work with talented cast members, and a much-needed hit for Ji Chang Wook, who has been struggling to find a suitable project after his enlistment.
