“SM vs SM” Red Velvet And aespa To Face Off In A Comback Competition This November

Two representative girl groups of SM Entertainment will join the November comeback race with two different charms

First, aespa will release their fourth mini album “Drama” on November 10th. This new album consists of six songs, including the title track of the same name “Drama”, “Trick or Trick”, “Don’t Blink”, “Hot Air Balloon”, “YOLO” and “You”.

Through their previous album “My World”, aespa presented their journey when returning to the real world after the fight in Kwangya. With “Drama”, the girls are expected to showcase another different concept. Like the album’s name, the members have been showing impressive acting skills as well as improved visuals in trailer videos, raising fans’ expectations for the comeback.

Starting with their debut song “Black Mamba”, aespa has attracted keen attention with their unique concepts, powerful performances, and addictive songs, such as “Next Level”, “Savage” and “Spicy”. Therefore, music fans are curious about what the girl group will show for “Drama”.

Released in May, “My World” recorded the highest pre-order number in the career of aespa and helped the group become a ‘double million seller’. In addition, they also set new records as the K-pop girl group with the highest physical sales on the first day and in first week of the album release. As such, attention is on whether aespa will rewrite K-pop history again with “Drama”.

On November 13th, Red Velvet will return to the music industry after a long time since “The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday” in November last year with their first comeback in 2023. The fact that this will also be the group’s first full album in six years since “Perfect Velvet” (2017), fans’ enthusiasm for the comeback is rising even higher.

Red Velvet is introducing their third full album “Chill Kill”, which has a total of 10 songs of various genres including the title track of the same name. “Chill Kill” is a pop dance song that combines dramatic and sophisticated melodies. The lyrics tell a love story that changes the world due to the sudden appearance of a “chill kill”.

In particular, Red Velvet also changed their SNS profile bio to “Happy Ending” ahead of their new album release. Because of that, rumors of the group’s disbandment arose, but SM immediately explained, “We changed it to match the concept of Red Velvet’s new album”. However, this proves that interest in Red Velvet’s comeback is very high.

Making their debut in 2014 with “Happiness”, Red Velvet has received so much love for their unique music styles throughout the comebacks, such as “Ice Cream Cake”, “Dumb Dumb”, “Red Flavor”, “Peek-a-boo”, “Bad Boy”, “Psycho”, “Russian Roulette”, “Queendom”, “Feel My Rhythm”, etc.

Achieving their first ‘million seller’ title with their previous album, Red Velvet is also expected to surprise K-pop fans once again with their unique music and earn better records with “Chill Kill”.
