SM announces Giselle’s absence from aespa’s “Outside Lands” festival schedule due to flu symptoms

Giselle will not be able to join aespa’s performance at the upcoming US music festival due to flu symptoms.

On August 11th, SM Entertainment released a notice on aespa’s official SNS account, saying “Giselle will be absent from the ‘Outside Lands’ festival scheduled for August 11th”.

According to the agency, Giselle showed symptoms of flu while carrying out schedules in the U.S. and is currently spending time resting and recovering her condition according to advice from medical staff.

SM said, “Although the artist expressed her strong determination to participate in the scheduled event, we have decided that it would be difficult for her to participate in the ‘Outside Lands’ festival, considering the medical staff’s advice and the artist’s health as our top priority”, adding, “We ask for the generous understanding of the fans”.

aespa will be the first K-pop group to perform at the “Outside Lands Music & Art Festival” in San Francisco. In addition, the girl group will continue to bring their world tour to a total of 14 cities in the U.S., South America and Europe, starting with the show in LA on August 13th
