SHINee’s Taemin Gains 10kg During Military Service and Boasts Chubbier Look Upon Discharge

SHINee’s Taemin has revealed a healthier and chubbier look after gaining 10kg during his military service, delighting fans upon his discharge.

On April 4, SHINee’s Taemin held a live broadcast on Instagram after being released from his military duties.

Taemin said, “Hello, it’s been a long time since I came to meet you. I thought it would be nice to have a place to communicate with you quickly, so I came right after.”

During the broadcast, Taemin shared that he had dyed his hair for the first time in two years, wanting to show his fans a different look. He also expressed his gratitude for the time he spent in the military, saying it was an opportunity to reflect on himself and cherish the memories he shared with his fans.

Fans were also quick to notice Taemin’s fuller figure, which he had previously mentioned in an interview with the Military Manpower Administration in October 2021. The extra weight seemed to make Taemin look even more charming and healthy.

Taemin completed his mandatory military service on April 4, after enlisting in May 2021. Due to worsening symptoms of depression and panic disorder, he was transferred to a supplementary reserve in January 2021.

To celebrate his discharge, Taemin will hold a fan meeting titled “2023 Taemin Fan Meeting RE: ACT” on April 22-23 at the Peace Hall of Kyung Hee University in Seoul, marking his first public event since returning from the military.
